Fantasy Football's week 4 is here and I have a list of overachievers for this week. Your "Dark Horses" have arrived! By John Arias.
Brandon Lloyd, WR- Bears
The Bears seemed to have found a go to guy in Brandon Lloyd. For the season, he has 13 receptions for 216 yards and a touchdown. He has an incredible 16.6 yards per reception and went over 100 yards in his last game. With the Bears hosting the Eagles, look for plenty of pass attempts.
Prediction: 5 receptions for 80 yards.
Antonio Bryant, WR- Buccaneers
Antonio Bryant has reestablished himself as a quality receiver worth owning. He started in place of Joey Galloway and had 10 receptions for 138 yards. Galloway is not going to return anytime soon and Bryant seems to be Griese’s got to guy. Green Bay is going to be without Al Harris, so look for Tampa Bay to throw the ball.
Prediction: 6 receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown
Tim Hightower, RB- Cardinals
Hightower has started to become a fantasy vulture. He has two touchdowns in three games. If available, pick him up as a flex pick for week 4. The Cardinals will be playing the Jets on the road. For all the money the Jets invested in their defense, it has not worked. The Chargers rack up over 40 points and that bodess well for the explosive Cardinals offense on Sunday.
Prediction: 10 carries for 30 yards and one touchdown.
Steve Slaton, RB- Texans
He had his first career start and had a career day. He rushed for 116 yards on only 18 carries. The Texans will take on the Jaguars, who rank 17th in the league against the rush. He should be able to crack the end zone as he did in week 3.
Prediction: 19 carries for 109 yards and a touchdown.
Jake Delhomme, QB- Panthers
He has faced the Chargers, Bears and Vikings defenses and two of those games were without Steve Smith; he managed to lead his team and put up adequate numbers. This week he faces the Atlanta Falcons at home with Steve Smith. Look for a breakout performance from the Panthers.
Prediction: 290 yards and two touchdowns
Trent Edwards, QB- Bills
Looking for a bye-week replacement? Look no further. Edwards is going to face the Rams on the road in week 4. For the season, he has 733 yards with three touchdowns and only one interception. He ranks in the top 10 in pass completions (63) completing percentage 67.0 and passing yards (733). Look for him to have a great day on Sunday.
Prediction: 310 yards and three touchdowns.
Robert Meachem, WR- Saints
All the cards seem to be lining up for Meachem in week 4 thanks to injures to Jeremy Shockey (out 3-6 weeks) and David Patten, (who did not practice on Wednesday). The Saints host the 49ers, which should be a high scoring affair. Last week, in his first extended time on the field, Meachem made the most of it. He had two receptions for 86 yards in the loss to the Broncos. Look for similar yardage but more receptions.
Prediction: 6 receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Matt Jones, WR- Jaguars
He has quietly had a good year. He has 15 receptions for 162 yards. The Jaguars play host to the Texans. The Texans secondary was scorched in week one and even Kerry Collins look good against in week three. Look for David Garrard to get back on track and to find Matt Jones.
Prediction: six receptions for 66 yards
