It's been three weeks now and some of you no doubtedly are ready to panic. What to do about Randy Moss and others? I'll tell you if its time to panic or to sit tight on some players that were surely picked in your league's first four rounds.
LaDainian Tomlinson - Sit Tight - LT scored his first couple TDs of the season this week to help a few owners to sleep at night. He hasn't looked spectacular, and Darren Sprolles has looked very impressive, outscoring LT through the first few weeks of the fantasy season. However, LT is still the premiere back in this league, although Adrian Peterson is closing quickly. Don't bench LT, his monster games will come.
Joseph Addai - Sit Tight - Addai owners are in much the same situation as Tomlinson. Although Addai has yet to post a 100 yard game and had just 20 yards on 15 carries against Minnesota, he should be alright. He scored twice against the Jaguars this weekend with the return of Jeff Saturday at center. As Manning starts to shake of the rust, more holes will open for Addai. Keep starting him.
Steven Jackson - PANIC!! - Jackson has not scored yet this season and the prognosis for all Rams is pretty awful at this point. Although Jackson did rack up 120+ all purpose yards this week, the offense is abysmall. That said, Jackson has a very favorable playoff schedule, matching up against his NFC West Rivals in each of the playoff weeks - 14, 15, and 16. If you can trade for Jackson a little later in the season for cheap, I would pull the trigger. But the Rams are going to have a hard time producing much offense most of the way.
Ryan Grant - Sit Tight - Grant's numbers do not look good through this point in the season. However, he has been nursing a hamstring injury up to this point but is finally looking a bit healthy. His team was behind a lot of the game against Dallas, which forced them to throw, but Grant should start to reward the owners who continue to start him sooner rather than later.
Randy Moss - PANIC!! - It looks like 2006 all over again. However, this time it isn't necessarily Moss' fault. With the Patriots getting blown out by the Dolphins and Moss totalling six catches for just 47 yards in his last two combined, things don't look good. The bright side here is that the Patriots have a bye this week and can hopefully try to rescheme without Brady. However, if things don't start looking up, you may have to throw Moss on your bench.
Braylon Edwards - PANIC!! - Edwards has looked downright awful. He deserves one more week before being thrown on the bench permanently, but if he doesn't produce against a pourous Cincinatti secondary, he is in trouble. Part of his problem has been a lack of practice due to his foot, part due to weather, and part due to tough opponents (DAL, PIT, BAL). However, his owners expect more than this. Start Braylon one more time, but then you may have to start calling for Brady Quinn like the rest of the Dog Pound.
Larry Johnson - PANIC!! - You should have been panicking the moment you drafted Johnson. Despite his good game against a horrible Atlanta defense, LJ will not have a strong season. Sell high on this guy now as the Chiefs offense looks absolutely miserable!
Peyton Manning - Sit Tight - So far Manning has just three touchdowns against four interceptions, but don't worry.. This will all change. Manning had that injury and missed all of his team's preseason games and was then without Jeff Saturday, his trusted center for the beggining of the season. Keep starting him and he will reward you.
Torry Holt - PANIC!! - Just like with Steven Jackson, Holt appears to be the victim of shoddy quarterback play, a weak offense line, and a lack of overall playmakers. I suspect that this will be Holt's weakest year in a long while. Start picking up guys like Antonio Bryant now, because Holt will soon be warming your bench.
